As a side note I want to explain why I chose this style of forum rather than the flashier more modern looking ones.

Simply put, I've decades long experience with php, the code used in this bulletin board. For me it was easier and simpler to go with something that I didn't have to fight a learning curve to use and maintain. Plus, if I really wanted to I could make this php Bulletin Board (phpBB) as flashy and modern as anything out there, but for why?

The user has a fairly simple interface to use to be able to post, plus there are a few bells and whistles that aren't intrusive, yet offer some nifty enhancements.

There are a few other reasons, like this phpBB is virtually FREE! to download, setup and to use!

Anyway, there you go. if you want flash then you're welcome to go else where.
